In order from earliest to latest, 2017 to present.
WORK 01
“Pumpkins”
This painting was done in December 2017, when I was in the middle of third grade. This was the first painting I did using only the four colors. At the time, I didn’t really know much about what I was doing, but now, looking back at it, using the blue for the rocks was a good idea so the pumpkins can pop, and the yellow makes it pop less so it balances out. Also, using the same shade of yellow to highlight the pumpkins really helps it balance the painting out.

WORK 02
“Fog in the Forest”
This painting was done in 2018, when I was in fourth grade. This was the painting in which I learned how to use a wash to create the illusion of fog in the background, and I mixed all of the colors I used in this.

WORK 03
“Peacock”
This drawing is mixed media and I was experimenting with pen and ink, watercolor, and animal paintings. This was my first time working with pen and watercolor. This was done in 2019 when I was in sixth grade. Again, I mixed the colors using solid watercolor paints.

WORK 04
“Eiffel Tower”
This drawing is mixed media and I was experimenting with mixed media and architectural drawings. This was done in 2019 when I was in fifth grade. For this I used perspective drawing with vanishing points, and I used pencil and charcoal as media.

WORK 05
“Fontaines de la Concorde”
This drawing is mixed media and I was experimenting with mixed media and architectural drawings once again. This was done in 2019 when I was in fifth grade. For this I used perspective drawing with vanishing points, practiced shading, and I used pencil and pastel as media. This drawing is of a fountain in Paris.

WORK 06
“Cabin in the Woods”
This was done in December 2019 using pen and ink and vanishing points. This was my first time drawing a building and shading with pen.

WORK 07
“Chickadee”
This was done in January 2020, right before everything shut down. For this I used chalk pastels, and pencils. In this, I was practicing shading and learning how to use pastels.

WORK 08
“Mount Major”
This was done during the pandemic, and it is a picture I took as we were climbing Mt. Major. It is a personal painting because it’s a tradition we do with a few families each year, but we couldn’t keep it up due to Covid restrictions. For the rocks and trees, I used a palette knife to make the painting look rougher and more natural, so I could depict nature acurrately.

WORK 09
“Rocks by the Shore”
This was done in February 2021, when I was in seventh grade. For the rocks I used a palette knife, so I’d be able to accurately capture the sharp edges of the rocks, and so they look natural.

WORK 10
“Stratham Hill Park”
This was done in September 2021, when I was in Eigth grade. This is a painting of the landmark Stratham Hill Park where I go hiking.

WORK 11
“A Calm Japanese Cave”
This is a painting of a Japanese cave with the sun rays shining through, creating this beautiful and calm place. I did this painting with acrylics.

WORK 12
“Dawn”
This is a painting of a tree on a mountainside, and my main goal for this painting was to work on my detail work and precision.

WORK 13
“Vishu Flowers”
This painting is of Vishu flowers, a staple in a cultural holiday in my country. I did this, again working on bettering my detail work, but this was just a small one that I did more for fun.

WORK 14
“Sanibel Island”
I took this photo in Sanibel Island, and painted it using acrylics. I used a purple for the sand so that it would contrast the yellow of the sunrise, and make the painting pop even more.

WORK 15
“Weeds or Wishes?”
This is a painting of my abstract take on dying dandelions. This was a painting that took me months because of the amount of detail and time I spent going over, and redoing parts of it until it was exactly how I envisioned it. I entered this in the Topsfield Fair, and I won 3rd place.

WORK 16
“Cloudy with a Chance of Tomatoes”
This painting I finished in August 2023, and it is a still life turned modern art piece. This is my own composition, and the idea behind it is that an idea is never fully formed or ready to act on until it’s cooled down and you’ve spent some time to think on it. I showed this through tomatoes and the outside having more of a cooler undertone, and then the tomatoes are flying into a cool-toned room. The media I used was acrylics, and then I used a palette knife to create texture for the rock the tomatoes are on.

WORK 17
“KERALA, INDIA”
I finished this painting in September 2024, and it’s a painting of our home in India and my own composition. The media used is acrylic paint, using a palette knife for texture and forming the leaves and background. This won an Honorable Mention in the Topsfield Fair.

WORK 18
“KOI FISH”
This is a painting of some koi fish in a pond, and is my own composition. The media I used is acrylic paints, and I used a glazing technique to layer the paints to give the illusion of water.
